Today, alcoholic beverages at your wedding are strictly optional. Or, at least, it’s optional for you to supply them. Whether you host a teetotaler wedding, want to provide non-alcoholic options, or are opting for a BYO alcohol approach for your celebration, one thing is for sure: Non-alcoholic beers are gaining popularity, not just among those with sensitivities about alcohol or addiction.
Long a bastion of craft brews, local non-alcoholic beers are just starting to crop up in Vermont. For your Vermont wedding, consider the following non-alcoholic beers from New England that bevo serves at its catered weddings, whether it’s to provision a full alcohol-free wedding or to augment your regular bar offerings.
No alcohol beers (0.5% alcohol or less)
- Rescue Club Brewery, Vermont – Rescue Club IPA
According to the brewer, a partnership between Burlington’s Zero Gravity Brewing and CItizen Cider Co., this non-alcoholic beer brings you the IPA flavor profile you love, without the buzz. We find it to be a bright and refreshing beer, and we hardly notice the lack of alcohol. - Athletic Brewing Company, Connecticut – Run Wild IPA
The flagship beer of this all-non-alcohol brewery is a crisp, traditional IPA with a full-flavored finish. The brewery offers more non-alcoholic beer variety than we’ve seen from any place else. Try their stout, orange ale, or kolsch for a full selection of non-alcoholic beers at your wedding. - Samuel Adams, Boston – Just the Haze
Sam’s hazy IPA entry is a light, golden and deliciously citrus ale . It’s a world-class ale that “just happens to be non-alcoholic”.
Low-alcohol beers:
- Harpoon Brewery, Boston and Windsor, Vermont – Rec, League IPA
OK, so it’s nor alcohol-FREE. But at 3.8%, it’s a low-alcohol beer by microbrew standards. It’s a delicious hazy IPA that doesn’t carry that high-alcohol baggage.
Speaking of cideries…
- Stowe Cider – Fresh Press
No N/A drink selection (or wedding toast!) is complete without sparkling cider, and Stowe Cider happens to be a leader in both the hard and soft styles of bubbly cider. Fresh Press is a delicious local cider made with locally-sourced apples & sparkling water – that’s it!
